Ladies And Gentlemen, President George W. Bush

At a press briefing today:

Q What's your advice to the average American who is hurting now, facing the prospect of $4 a gallon gasoline, a lot of people facing --

THE PRESIDENT: Wait, what did you just say? You're predicting $4 a gallon gasoline?

Q A number of analysts are predicting --

THE PRESIDENT: Oh, yeah?

Q -- $4 a gallon gasoline this spring when they reformulate.

THE PRESIDENT: That's interesting. I hadn't heard that.

Q Yes, sir.

THE PRESIDENT: Yes. I know it's high now.

Eleven more months, eleven more months.

  1. Blaming everything on Bush is a game that is getting old and boring. Iraq yes. Recession no. What can Obama do differently to suppress the surging gas price?

  2. Pfeffer,

I’m not blaming Bush for high gas prices, but rather am poking fun at his rather, um, idiosyncratic speaking style. That’s all.

  3. Hey, President Bush told everybody that both he and Daisuke Matsuzaka struggle in answering questions in English. :-) Give him a break.

  4. I moved to China at the beginning of his second term. Now whenever anyone asks when I’ll move back to the states I say I’m waiting out the next election. I’m not sure if the next in command will do much better, but I can hope.

  5. Ha- it’s almost as if we’re here as political exiles.

  6. $4 a gallon is expensive? current UK prices would put a US gallon at around $7.90.

the US obviously has it good under Bush – pity he can’t stay on for longer :P

  7. Gasoline is overrated. Cheap gas is not the mark of a good leader. Inventive efficient appropriate public transportation is. Big trucks fuzzy dice and pimped out wheelz are overrated too.

And so is Bush, lower than his numbers show. People know.

Time to reunify the world. Stop the video-game wars. Idiot kids suiting up for thrill (& benefits, & something to do, you know?). “You know what the midwest is? Young and Restless.” -Kanye West.

There’s no gain in war, kid, ‘cept for profiteers. The rest is loss. Pure loss. Death, and money, and honor. Loss.

Funny too that Commander Chimpanzee feigns with: “$4? Uhh. Hadn’t heard it.”
Funny his style, not the man. No, not the man, of course not. Idiosyncraic, yeah.
    Idio-syn-cra-tic. Or maybe idiotsyncratic.

    : : e sottovoce: : :
